Ely Runners Virtual Festive 10k 2020 FAQ

1. What is the date of the race?
Runners must complete 10km (or 6.22 miles) any time between 24th December 2020 and 31st December 2020.

2. How do I enter?
All entrants must enter before Friday 18th December 2020. No entries will be accepted after this date.

3. How does it work?
All entrants must find a safe, 10km route where they can run or walk the distance in one go. Proof needs to be provided via a recording platform such as Strava, Garmin, Suunto, FitBit etc. and must be the total elapsed time, not the moving time (is make sure your device does not stop recording if you stop or walk). We rely on runner’s honesty in this respect. Run/walk must then be submitted to the e mail address below. Only the first entry will be accepted from all entrants.

4. How do I submit my result?
All entrants must submit their result no later than 02nd January 2020 to elyracedirector@gmail.com. Any entries sent after this date will not be counted.

5. What is the minimum age for marathon participants?
Entrants must be at least 15 years old on race day

9. Is there a cut off time?
The beauty of a virtual event is there is no cut off. We just ask that the distance is completed in one single run/walk and wherever you complete this is safe and not trespassing on any private land.

10. I can no longer run in the event, can I get a refund?
Entries cannot be refunded, transferred or deferred.

11. Can I run in fancy dress?
This year is unique and designed to make the festive period that little more fun after a strange, strange year! Therefore fancy dress is strongly encouraged!!

12. Spot Prizes
There will be spot prizes (selection boxes) for best fancy dress outfits and best running location photos.

13. Covid Compliance
Please ensure that you comply with whatever national or local restriction that are in place in the location that you choose to run at this time. Please do not exceed maximum group numbers and ensure appropriate distancing at all times.
