Welcome to the Turing Trail Relay Ely - Cambridge - Ely
UPDATE JUNE 2011: TURING TRAIL RELAY WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AS AN OPEN EVENT IN 2012
It is with regret that, as in 2010 and 2011, the TTR has been
dropped as an open event in 2012. This is primarily due to the problem of finding enough marshals without
compromising safety on such a long course. We realise this must be as
disappointing for your team as it is for our club. The club committee are currently exploring alternative possibilities to mark the centenary of Alan Turing's birth.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and past support of the TTR. This six stage relay event is run on mainly opposite riverside footpaths from Ely to Cambridge (Jesus Green) and back to Ely. Stages are from 4.5 to 7.6 miles and vary from country trail to mixed terrain. These attractive and interesting footpaths were once used for running by Alan Turing, founder of computer science, whilst at King's College, Cambridge.
