Planned training sessions can be subject to change, being dependent on weather and ground conditions, visibility, numbers attending and suitability for those present.
Members are requested not to wear ear pieces during training because they will not be able to hear traffic approaching from behind.
For training at night, members must wear a reflective bib. These are available free of charge from club stock at the Paradise Centre

WEEKLY TRAINING PROGRAMME:

Thursday 1st May
Golf course, footpath to Lt Thetford where turn left for 400m and left again along catchwater footpath to left turn across drain and up track to rejoin outward route before poultry houses (6.5m). Can extend to 8 miles by repeating the poultry houses/Lt Thetford loop or to 9m by adding the Fish & Duck loop.

Tuesday 6th May
Grass track intervals KSE’s Amherst Field (adjacent to railway station) under the instruction of Club Coach Alan Rutterford

Thursday 8th May
Coveney (grass triangle) and back (8.5m) or via West Fen Drove and Hurst Lane tracks (9.75m). Shorter options if turn back before Coveney.

Tuesday 13th May
Brands Field fig of 8 with large field x 1 and small field x 2 per lap of 1.25m x 4 laps = 5m.Long sides fast, short sides recovery. Total from Paradise about 7m.

Thursday 15th May
Clayway Drove, Kettlesworth Drove, Chettisham, Ely (6.75m) or from Chettisham across bypass to Coffue Drove and North Fen Drove to California and left back to Ely (10m)

Tuesday 20th May
Grass track intervals KSE’s Amherst Field (adjacent to railway station) under the instruction of Club Coach Alan Rutterford

Thursday 22nd May
Laps of part (start/finish Waterboard Hill and omit Common) club’s new XC course via Pit lake, Springhead Lane, Pocket Park and water meadows loop. One lap 3m, 2 laps 6m, 3 laps 9m.

Tuesday 27th May
Lisle Lane (slow), Springhead lane (fast), Kiln Lane (slow), meadow (fast) 1.1m interval laps x 5.
Total distance from Paradise 6.28m

Thursday 29th May
Magog Down laps of 2.43m with 2 hills per lap. 2 laps = 4.9m, 3 laps 7.3m, 4 laps 9.7.
Probably followed by change and swim at Next Generation Club, Cambridge as guests of Sweatshop from 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm when shop will also be opened with a special 15% discount for members. Meet Paradise at 6:15 pm or go direct (meet Magog car park) for 7:00 pm start.

Circuits of the large common, Kiln Lane, Springhead Lane, Pocket Park, Springhead Lane, Kiln Lane, and small common. Start/finish at top of Kiln Lane. 1 lap, 2.5m, 2 laps 5m, 3 laps 7.5m

Barway triangle 7.5m via The Park, Jubilee Gardens, riverbank path and across Lode End Bridge (by pump house) before sharp left turn along lode footpath. At Barway Bridge, turn right along stony drove to Gt Ouse bank where turn right back to Ely. For 6m option, turn round at Lode End Bridge.

Tuesday 16th September
Water Board Hill (Kiln Lane) x 10 laps. Warm up run via back of Cathedral, Porta, Back Hill, level crossing and riverbank. Warm down via Springhead Lane to Paradise (8m from/to Paradise)

Thursday 18th September
Ely-Little Downham via Main Street/Cannon Street loop (6.6m) or 2 loops (7.9m)
