Ely Runners 7th but finish 3rd overall in League Glyn Loveday 1st man & Brigitte Brimley 1st woman for Ely Personal bests for Graham Chapman and Tony Robinson
There were 20 Ely Runners among the 389 finishers in this 6th and final event of the 2006-07 series. The undulating 5 miles course was on roads and tarmac paths around the suburbs of Huntingdon. A weaker than usual Ely Runners team finished in 7th place but the club still managed to come 3rd overall of 15 teams in the League. The first 10 to finish, including at least 2 women, make up the scoring team but all finishers can influence the overall result. Eric Drury was Team Manager. Official results:

Race 5, SUNDAY 4th February 2007Ely Runners 2nd of 15 teams and reduce Riverside's overall lead Personal bests for 10 members There were 18 Ely Runners amongst the 368 finishers in this fifth of the six 2006-07 league races. The undulating 5.0 miles course was on mainly packed woodland paths and soft tracks. Ely Runners were 2nd but gained a valuable point over League leaders Riverside Runners. The first 10 to finish, including at least 2 ladies, make up the scoring team but all finishers influence the overall result. Eric Drury was Team manager and Tony Hall assisted with transport. Race 4, SUNDAY 14th January 2007 Ely Runners 2nd of 15 teams and improve to 2nd in the League There were 22 Ely Runners amongst the 395 official finishers in this fourth of the six 2006-07 league races. The almost level course of 5.16 miles was on grass, mixed terrain tracks and farm roads. Ely Runners were 2nd and improved from 3rd to 2nd team overall. The first 10 to finish, including at least 2 ladies, make up the scoring team but all finishers influence the overall result. Eric Drury was Team manager and Tony Hall assisted with transport. Race 3, SUNDAY 10th December 2006 - March Ely Runners 1st of 15 teams. There were 16 Ely Runners amongst the 376 finishers in this third of the six 2006-07 league races. The new, almost level course of 5 miles was on mixed terrain paths, grass and tracks and quite slippery in places. Despite a smaller turnout than usual, Ely recorded their first win of the season but stayed in 3rd place overall. The first 10 to finish, including at least 2 ladies, make up the scoring team but all finishers influence the overall result. Eric Drury was Team manager. Race 2, Sunday 12th November 2006 - Bushfield Ely Runners finish 4th of 15 teams and move up to 3rdin the League. There were 24 Ely Runners among a record 485 finishers in this second of the six 2006-07 league races. The course of 5 miles was on slightly undulating roads, cycleways, tarmac paths, and firm woodland tracks. Ely narrowly finished 4th of 15 teams, compared to 1st in 2005. However, Ely moved up from 4th to 3rd place overall, which is the same position as in 2005 after the 2nd race. The first 10 to finish, including at least 2 ladies, make up the scoring team but all finishers influence the overall result. Eric Drury was Team manager.
