The inaugural race on 28th May 2006 had 1,344 finishers and was organised by Ely Runners’ members Ian Vaughan-Arbuckle (Race Director), Rod Baron (Web Master, entries and results), and Richard Handoll (Course Director) on behalf of King's Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council.

The 2007 race on 6th May increased to 1,509 finishers. Ely Runner Ian Vaughan-Arbuckle was Race Director and Ely Runner Richard Handoll was Course Director.
